Junies began with a discovery—a tiny, timeworn building tucked away on Juniata Street in St. Louis’ Tower Grove South neighborhood.
From the outside, it had a certain charm. But inside? Not so much. The basement had a collapsed sewer line. The plumbing and electric were outdated. It smelled bad, it was filthy, and the backyard was completely overgrown. Still, something about it felt special. We saw through the mess and imagined a space filled with light, laughter, and connection.
So we got to work—cleaning, rebuilding, and restoring every inch. We transformed the neglected interior into a bright, flexible event space, and turned the weedy backyard into a cozy, courtyard-style hangout. Along the way, Junies was born: named for its location on Juniata Street, and also a playful nod to the juniper berry, the essential ingredient in gin—a nod to celebration and togetherness.
Today, Junies is home to more than just parties. While we love hosting baby showers, birthdays, and micro-weddings, we also open our doors for creative workshops, community pop-ups, and seasonal events. From floral arranging to block printing, cocktail classes to craft nights—Junies is a space that brings people together to learn, connect, and celebrate.
And upstairs? There’s a charming one-bedroom apartment, fully renovated and available for short-term and extended stays. With its own entrance, vintage touches, and plenty of natural light, it’s the perfect home base for out-of-town guests, traveling creatives, or anyone looking for a cozy spot in a vibrant neighborhood.
What started as a forgotten little building is now a space full of life, creativity, and joy—and we’re so excited to share it with you.
